Why should you file a financial statement?

It is important to file a copy of the annual financial statement as this indicates to the Registrar that the society is still operating and should remain on the Register.

If a society doesn't file a financial statement, the Registrar may take this as an indication that the society has ceased operations and will begin to take steps to dissolve the society (remove it from the register).
